This guide will help you use Trusona for a secure, passwordless login experience on your WordPress site. Our developer will install the Trusona plugin, and the site administrator will set up your account. Follow these steps to get started!

1. What is Trusona?

Trusona is a passwordless login solution that uses secure authentication via the Trusona app. By scanning a QR code with your phone, you can log in without needing a password, making it easier and more secure to access your website.

2. How It Works

Trusona uses its Trusona Gateway to ensure secure authentication without the need for passwords. When you attempt to log in, the WordPress site communicates with the Trusona Gateway and a unique QR code will be generated to verify your identity using public-key cryptography, ensuring that no sensitive information (like passwords) is transmitted or stored. Once verified, you are logged in immediately — no passwords required!

3. How to Use Trusona to Log In to Your Website

To use Trusona for logging into your WordPress website, you’ll need to have two things:

1. Install and activate the Trusona plugin on your website.
2. Download the Trusona app on your mobile phone.

Once both are set up, here’s how to log in:

• Visit your WordPress login page.
• Click the Log in with Trusona button, and a unique QR code will appear on your screen.
• Open the Trusona app on your phone and select Scan QR Code.
• Use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code displayed in your browser.
• In the Trusona app, a message will appear with Accept and Reject buttons. Tap Accept to confirm the login.
• Once you accept, the WordPress website will refresh, and you’ll be logged in automatically.
• If you want to make future logins easier, you can toggle the Trust this computer option at the bottom of the QR code. This way, you’ll only need to scan the QR code once, and future logins on that computer will be automatic.

4. Important Note:

Your WordPress account is managed by the site administrator, so you don’t need to link your Trusona account manually.

If the administrator removes your account from the WordPress backend, you will lose access to the site via Trusona.

5. System Requirements for Trusona

To use Trusona effectively, ensure you have the following:

• The Trusona app, available for iOS (version 10 or later) and Android (version 5 or later).
• A smartphone with a camera to scan QR codes (for desktop logins).
